Inline Tube - At the Detroit Autorama -08 69 Camaro Z28 Show Car

Inline Tube 2008 Detroit Autorama -

Every  year the Autorama show car series comes to town and while there are many different types of cars that inline tube makes products for we are usually associated with the stock restored muscle cars. The series has many divisions that eventually break down in the finals to Street Rod Car, Street Rod Truck, Modified Motor Cycle and the Restored Division. The restored division covers all types of cars and trucks and many classics just like your local show.  To be invited to Autorama and go through the entrance procedure is proof enough that you have risen above most of the street cars. To place in the class an get a trophy means your car is better than most the cars at the show and is a great honor. Once you place first in your class you are now eligible for special awards - such as; best paint - outstanding engine - best restored and display awards.  For the top cars it is a nail biting weekend and for the judges, it is a weekend filled with looking, discussions, crawling in out and under these beautiful machines. You would think it was a car guys dream but there are tough decisions to be made and only one car can win per class. It is one of the most prestigious awards you can win and one of the best crafted trophies in the country.  It always features the last years winners and the best of the best.

Every year Inline tube prepares to go for the gold and this year Jo has brought his 69 Z28 Camaro that features many Inline Tube products. It will take all day to set it up in the inline tube display.  The car must be placed, raised in the air and cleaned. The judges are looking for what separates you from the competition.  A first place loss can come down to a few bolts or even a dirty car. On the once over, we make sure every bolt is correct, touch up any minor assembly blemishes and clean every spot we can get our hands into. Presentation also makes a lasting impression. A dark lonely car on a carpet, no matter how nice can hardly  compete with a professional display that tells a story and lights up the car like Christmas.

This year we have an early move in time 10am Wednesday - this gives us more time to set up the car with out the pressure of others setting up around us and rushing the process.  We start by getting the car unloaded  and over for final inspection. The judges tech the car and give the final OK. Then we are assigned a spot and start setting up the car.

We display the car with one side open and the other closed. The car will be displayed with the wheels off to show all the detail we can. The other side will be closed to show how good the body gaps are.  It has taken sever hours to get the car set up and the display put together.

The power is on, lighting the car from below and showing off all the time that has been spent on the details of this car. We also had display boards made to show the restoration process. This allows the car owner to give credit to all the vendors and professionals that help along the way.

Scott Tieman from Super Car Specialties put on the beautiful paint that is polished to a mirror finish and had a hand in assembling just about the entire car. Scotts attention to detail is second to none and he is known for his work all over the country.

Inline tube provided all the under body detail items - including; brake and fuel lines, parking brake cables, brake & fuel clips, flex rubber brake hoses, gas tank and all the other details associated with the brakes and suspension.

The interior was done by Dale at L.A. Trim and the work is top of the line.

The engine compartment is factory fresh.

Inline tube provided the all the brake lines and brake plumbing products and all the detail stickers to finish this top restoration. Below is another shot of the under side and the detail is stunning. Inline tube provide the lines, cables, brass valve and the detail stickers.
