We have set the industry standard on disc brake conversions kits - while others give you generic parts we supply the factory correct stuff at no extra charge. Others have a smooth generic booster and master - ours is a delco booster and bleeder master cylinder.  Others say they offer a kit for 14" wheels until the parts rub on the rims - Our kits work with 14" wheels.  Others say you get all the parts until you go to put it on the car and are missing the valve, hoses or hardware - We do provide all the parts. Others have trade names or company logos largely stamped all over the parts - Our parts are just like the factory, neat and clean.

Factory Style Kits - vary from the standard kits in that they are very car and year specific. While many of the parts are the same (spindle / caliper bracket / booster ) many other parts change yearly and with the make of the car.  While the standard kit will fit many applications there are many pieces that make it specific to a particular car. The valves change yearly and the locations of these valves also change. The hoses and mounting brackets also change by make and model. These differences affect the brake line routings, fittings and brake line routings of the car.

Factory Style Kits have all the specific parts by make and model so when the kit is installed it looks factory exact. These kits come with specific masters, valves and lines just as pictured. So when you by a 69 Camaro Disc Brake Conversion - you get the correct 2 piece valve and bracket, master cylinder, brake lines, hoses and hose brackets and all the specific hardware so the kit looks exactly the way the factory did it. These kits also come with all the brake lines to make the switch There will be no bending, making brake lines or changing fittings out. These kits have all the necessary lines that change with the disc brake option.

NO other company in the industry offers kits like this - and to top it off they are less expensive than most others standard one size fits all kits.

1962-67 Chevrolet X-Body - Nova / Chevy II 

Stock Spindle Disc Brake Kit - This kit retains the stock height of the car using the original spindle. The kit does not move the front wheels out on each side and works with most 14" wheels. This kit uses the original spindle.

All 1962-66 GM cars had drum brakes with a single master cylinder. The brake system has a single line routed to a junction block on the body that feeds brake fluid to the entire system.  Disc brake conversions use a proportioning valve and dual master cylinder. 1967 was the first year for GM disc brakes. GM used dual piston calipers for both 1967 and 1968; 1969-74 used the improved design single piston caliper. All disc brake conversions use the improved single piston caliper.

1967 was also the first year for the dual master cylinder, separating the front and rear systems from each other. From 1967 to 1970, the proportioning was made up of more than one valve. Whether a car had the optional disc brakes or standard drum brakes, it had a distribution block that separated the front and rear system. This block is the same for disc and drum cars. Factory disc brake cars had an additional front hold-off valve. This valve was located off the stud of the master cylinder and was the size of a golf ball. The function of the valve was to hold off the front brake pressure until the system built up enough pressure to bypass the valve and release the flow to the caliper.  In 1971, these two valves were combined to make the modern proportioning valve used on all 1971 and newer cars.  Disc brake conversions use the improved 1971 design, so there is no need to use the existing drum brake valve.

This kit lowers the car using a drop spindle. When upgrading to disc brakes, the car should be upgraded to 3/16" brake line. This size line builds up more pressure and gives a much better pedal feel. 3/16" line is commonly used for disc brakes while 1/4" line is used on full drum brake cars.

1967 was also the first year for the dual master cylinder separating the front and rear systems from each other. From 1967 to 1970, the proportioning was made up of more than one valve. Whether a car had the optional disc brakes or standard drum brakes, it had a distribution block that separated the front and rear system. This block is the same for disc and drum cars. Factory disc brake cars had an additional front hold-off valve. This valve was located off the stud of the master cylinder and was the size of a golf ball. The function of the valve was to hold off the front brake pressure until the system built up enough pressure to by pass the valve and release the flow to the caliper. In 1971, these two valves were combined to make the modern pro portioning valve used on all 1971 and newer cars. Disc brake conversions use the improved 1971 design, so there is no need to use the existing drum brake valve.

This is the long awaited reproduction Delco Booster and it is exact in every detail. This booster is for all power assisted brake applications (disc or drum). This booster comes with long and short master cylinder pins, vacuum check valve and pedal assembly clevis. The finish is gold iridescent and no core is required. This is a brand new part.

This booster will replace all factory disc and drum boosters for 1964-66 GM A-Body, 1967-72 GM A-Body, 1967-69 F-Body, and 1968-74 X-Body. The booster is also used for all disc brake conversions using front disc and rear drums.

In the past, rebuilders required your original and would bead blast and re-plate all the metal parts. If the booster face had pits or rust, the plating would emphasize these flaws and the rebuild job would cost between $180.00 and $225.00. This new booster is priced below the rebuild price, no core is required and the booster is show quality every time.

This booster is offered both with and without the Delco stamped imprint. The Delco stamp originally could have been on any of the three front flat areas of the booster, right side up or up side down, or no stamp at all. If you order it without the stamp, the booster is less expensive because of the royalties due for the Delco name.

All 1964-66 GM cars had drum brakes. 1967 was the first year for disc brakes with dual piston calipers through 1968. 1969-74 all used the improved design single piston caliper. All disc brake conversions use the improved single piston caliper. These disc brake conversions will fit all the 1964-72 GM A-Body cars. This includes: 1964-72 GTO, LeMans, Tempest, Chevelle, El Camino, Monte Carlo, Skylark, Gran Sport, Cutlass, 442, F-85. These sets will also fit all 1967-69 F-Body and 68-74 X-Body cars.
